Throughout the year, the Jean Nicolet Chapter, NSDAR, participates in a variety of programs that reflect our mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism – along with opportunities to connect, learn, and have fun together. Below are some examples of the programs, social activities, and service project gatherings that are scheduled during the year.

Historical Sites – Our monthly meetings often include programs and site visits to historical places such as:

American History and Heritage Programs

  • Colonial dance demonstrations
  • Colonial-era music
  • Tea in America program

Genealogy Programs for Members – We participate in workshops and site visits to learn about local genealogy resources, including:

  • Brown County Library
  • UW-Green Bay Archives and Area Research Center
  • Green Bay FamilySearch Center

Gatherings for Social & Service Activities

  • Making and assembling items for service projects
  • Cemetery documentation and headstone cleaning
  • Book club and movie discussions

Special Projects – We participate in unique opportunities that showcase our creativity and patriotic pride, such as:

  • 2021 DAR American Heritage contest – award winning quilt top
  • Participating in the annual Flag Day Parade
